About Us

Vorelco is a small team of Product Development specialists providing disruptive design innovations since 1984.

Our founder's innovations go all the way back to the late 70's and holds over 20 patents. Our 200 plus product designs range from Electro-Optics to robotics, Asset Tracking, Navigation, and dispensing to Consumer Electronics. Vorelco boasts a flawless business record since we opened the doors in 1984.

Vorelco's Product Development experience in Electro-Optics goes back to the late 70's working with industry pioneers like Laakmann Electro-optics that pioneered the R.F. excited CO2 surgical lasers used all over the world today.

This technology was later sold to Johnson and Johnson. While working with Laakmann I became familiar with Dyn-Optics a small high tech Electro-Optics company in Laguna Niguel California, formed by two ex Parker Hannifin engineers, Joesph Hall and Forrest Reynard.

The two founders split up after a few years and Reynard went on to form "Reynard Corporation" one of the world's most respected advanced optics firms and remains one of our favorite clients. Reynard designs and manufactures exotic filters and optics for commercial and Military applications.Dyn-Optics stopped manufacturing optics and focused on electro-optical instruments product development. The initial offerings were basic optical monitors and reflectometers.

Vorelco designed, developed and manufactured all of Dyn-Optics' products for nearly a decade. We designed the Fire Finder II a hand held infrared viewer that is used to detect hot spots, fires and other heat related hazards that often escape visual inspection. This technology is deployed throughout the U.S. military especially aboard the U.S. fleet. We are very proud of this design and we have since developed several more such designs that will be introduced in an accompanying fire fighting technology.

We developed the world's first L.E.D. based Reflectometer for use in the polished metals and street light reflector industry. Vorelco helped Dyn-Optics overcome many electronic hurdles with their product lines.

We offer a full line of Electro-Optic products to several industries for use in labs and insitu manufacturing environments.

Vorelco has developed several Optical Measurement Instruments over the years that are in use all over the world. As the sole OEM Product Development source and manufacturer of all of Dyn-Optics products for nearly 10 years. Joe Hall retired and sold Dyn-Optics. The name "Dyn-Optics" is an abandoned Trademark and the term "Fire Finder" is a current Trademark but owned by someone other than Dyn-Optics.The FireFinder in fact has a rather checkered past. The patent filed for on the device was initiated several years after it had already been on the market making it ineligible for protection under U.S. and European Patent law.

We have since focused on our own line of Electro-Optical products. Although we no longer design for Dyn-Optics we still take care of many of their customers providing best in class Electro-optic product development.

Regarding the name of this site "Dyn-Optics-Repair" and trademark law. Dyn-optics canceled their trademark long ago as in June 24, 1988.

There is a strange coincidence between Vorelco and Dyn-Optics that is uncanny. The Attorney of record for Dyn-Optic's Trade Mark filing is Grover Frater, the very same attorney I hired in 1976 to file my first of twenty or so patents to date.

As to the owner of the mark "Fire Finder" it is not owned by Dyn-Optics but by another individual named Kershaw who once worked with or for Dyn-Optics. (See Below) This invites the question "Why would anyone buy Dyn-Optics without being able to benefit from any level of exclusivity provided by patents or trade marks?" Dyn-Optics although once a respected name in the industry has no protectable intellectual property not even a trade mark! Joe Hall offered to sell me the company too but after seeing so much of the market going to China and India I could not see any real value plus so many of Dyn-Optics's customers were migrating to Vorelco it did not make sense.

All the best,

Jack Durban
